Zavedanje, da se v vsakem trenutku v poslovnem omre\u017eju lahko pojavi zamaskiran napadalec in za name\u010dek ostane skrit, je prebudila \u017eeljo in nujo po trdnej\u0161i obrambi in usposobljenih odzivnih centrih.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">S tem je povezano tudi preverjanje u\u010dinkovitosti odzivnega centra in stanja kibernetske varnosti v organizaciji ter njeno neprestano izbolj\u0161evanje. O tem, da \u017ee dolgo ne zado\u0161\u010dajo ve\u010d letni vdorni testi, smo pisali v blogu <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carbonsec.com\/sl\/kibernetska-varnost-clovek-ali-stroj\/\">Kibernetska varnost 2021 \u2013 \u010dlovek ali stroj?<\/a> Verjetno je zdaj tudi \u017ee vsem jasno, da pri tem vpra\u0161anju ne gre za odnos \u00bbali-ali\u00ab, temve\u010d za \u00bbin\u00ab. \u010clovek \u2013 pentester ali \u010dlan ekipe v odzivnem centru \u2013 morata sodelovati z orodji z umetno inteligenco, \u010de \u017eelimo uspe\u0161no odbijati dnevne poskuse napadov.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Vdorni test poka\u017ee realno sliko na dolo\u010den prese\u010dni dan \u2013 kaj pa jutri?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Naj se vrnem k predpostavki, da so podjetja tradicionalno penetracijske teste izvajala enkrat letno. Kaj to pomeni v kontekstu dana\u0161nje kibernetske varnosti?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Denimo, da je bil danes v va\u0161em podjetju zaklju\u010den dvotedenski projekt vdornega testiranja. Pentesterji so odli\u010dno opravili svoje delo. Na\u0161li so eno kriti\u010dno ranljivost, dve ranljivosti z oznako visoko, tri srednje in pet informativnih. V poro\u010dilu so vam napisali tudi <em>priporo\u010dila<\/em>, kako te ranljivosti odpraviti. Specifi\u010dnih <em>navodil <\/em>za odpravo niso napisali, ker morate odpravljanje izvesti glede na specifike va\u0161e arhitekture in v dogovoru z zunanjimi ponudniki storitev. Zaklju\u010dnega sestanka je konec, jutri se za\u010dnete pogovarjati o \u010dasovnici za odpravo ranljivosti. Po na\u0161ih izku\u0161njah se \u010das za odpravo ranljivosti meri v mesecih.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Poglejmo \u0161e na stran ranljivosti. V letu 2021 je bilo zabele\u017eenih 20.168 ranljivosti z oznako <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cvedetails.com\/browse-by-date.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CVE<\/a>, kar pomeni 55 ranljivosti na dan. Super! Ni\u010d nam ne morejo. Do jutri zjutraj, ko bo zaznanih novih 55 ranljivosti in bo na\u0161 poslovni sistem spet izpostavljen tveganjem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ko bi bil eti\u010dni heker vsak dan v hi\u0161i \u2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Idealno bi torej bilo, da vsak dan testirali kibernetsko varnost v treh korakih: poiskali bi ranljivosti (ang. <em>vulnerability scan<\/em>) in poskusili odkrite ranljivosti izrabiti in vdreti v sistem (ang. <em>penetration test<\/em>). V tretjem koraku pa bi ranljivosti, ki se jih dejansko da izrabiti, nemudoma odpravili.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tak ideal ni mo\u017een iz dveh razlogov, ki smo jih tudi \u017ee ve\u010dkrat omenili:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>vsakodnevno penetracijsko testiranje bi bilo za vsako organizacijo stro\u0161kovno nesprejemljivo,<\/li><li>na trgu ni dovolj eti\u010dnih hekerjev, da bi jih podjetja lahko zaposlila za dnevno testiranje.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Poleg tega za <strong>odkrivanje ranljivosti in vdorno testiranje<\/strong> poleg specifi\u010dnih znanj potrebujemo tudi ustrezna orodja, ki lahko predstavljajo kar velik stro\u0161ek. Tretji korak \u2013 <strong>odpravljanje ranljivosti<\/strong> \u2013 pa zahteva od izvajalcev izredno \u0161iroko in hkrati poglobljeno znanje, ki vklju\u010duje poznavanje tehnologije, omre\u017eja, delovanja naprav in njihove medsebojne povezanosti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Za enega eti\u010dnega hekerja ali celo za skupino treh ali \u0161tirih je \u017ee v srednje velikem podjetju dnevno odpravljanje vseh ranljivosti, ki se jih da izrabiti, nerealno zahtevna naloga. Izvajanje tak\u0161nih testov pa v lu\u010di porasta kibernetskega kriminala postaja nuja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Avtomatizirano vdorno testiranje je korak bli\u017eje idealu<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vodilna razvojna podjetja na podro\u010dju kibernetske varnosti so prepoznala potrebo po avtomatizaciji vdornih testiranj. Na voljo so orodja, ki lahko v kratkem \u010dasu opravijo za umetno inteligenco rutinsko nalogo preverjanja izrabljivosti ranljivosti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Orodja za avtomatizirano vdorno testiranje izvajajo kontrolirane napade s surovo silo (ang. <em>brute force attacks<\/em>) in s tem delujejo kot pravi napadalci. V prvem koraku <strong>poi\u0161\u010dejo ranljivosti<\/strong>, v drugem <strong>posku\u0161ajo te ranljivosti izrabiti<\/strong> in glede na rezultat obeh korakov <strong>ovrednotijo kriti\u010dnost ranljivosti<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Naj na tem mestu izpostavimo klju\u010dno razliko med orodjem za odkrivanjem ranljivosti (<em>vulnerability scanner<\/em>) in orodjem za avtomatizirano penetracijsko testiranje in potrjevanje varnosti (<em>penetration testing and security validation<\/em>). Orodje za odkrivanje ranljivosti izvede stati\u010dni pregled z namenom odkrivanja varnostnih lukenj, ki jih rangira po metodologiji <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Common_Vulnerability_Scoring_System\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CVSS<\/a>. Ta orodja so primarno namenjena name\u0161\u010danju varnostnih popravkov za odkrite ranljivosti (ang. <em>patching<\/em>) in ne merijo vpliva posamezne ranljivosti na posamezen sistem (la\u017eno pozitivne ranljivosti) niti jih ne obravnavajo dinami\u010dno (la\u017eno negativne ranljivosti).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Orodja za avtomatizirano penetracijsko testiranje gredo korak dlje in so primarno namenjena <strong>potrjevanju kibernetske varnosti<\/strong>. To pomeni, da odkrite ranljivosti posku\u0161a v danem sistemu izrabiti in njihovo <strong>kriti\u010dnost ocenijo glede na mo\u017een vpliv na poslovanje<\/strong> oz. potencialno poslovno \u0161kodo. Dodana vrednost tak\u0161nega orodja se odra\u017ea v informaciji, katere ranljivosti so dejansko nevarne za organizacijo in jih je potrebno prioritetno obravnavati in odpraviti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vzemimo za primer eno od ranljivosti ranljivost Log4j, ki so dobro za\u010dinile konec leta 2021. Zelo verjetno je res tako. Lahko pa se zgodi, da je konfiguracija na\u0161ega sistema taka, bo v povezavi z drugimi ranljivostmi v sistemu izvorna ranljivost eskalirala do kriti\u010dne stopnje in omogo\u010dila napadalcu vdor v sistem. Tega ne moremo vedeti, dokler ne izvedemo simulacije izrabe ranljivosti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Primer ranljivosti z oznako srednje kriti\u010dno, ki se je na koncu izkazal za mo\u010dno kriti\u010dnega, prikazuje spodnji shematski prikaz razvoja ranljivosti iz orodja <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carbonsec.com\/sl\/resitve\/pentera-avtomatizirano-penetracijsko-testiranje\/\">Pentera<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"324\" height=\"273\" src=\"https:\/\/www.carbonsec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/kill-chain.png\" alt=\"Pentera vulnerability kill chain\" class=\"wp-image-4010\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.carbonsec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/kill-chain.png 324w, https:\/\/www.carbonsec.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/kill-chain-300x253.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 324px) 100vw, 324px\" \/><figcaption>Analiza vektorja napada s Pentero (Vir: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pentera.io\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pentera<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Iz kriti\u010dnosti z oceno 5,5 se je ob simulaciji izrabe razvila ranljivosti z oceno 10, ki napadalcu omogo\u010da prevzem administratorskega ra\u010duna. Nasprotno se lahko ranljivost z oceno 9 izka\u017ee v konkretnem sistemu kot ne\u0161kodljiva, npr. s kon\u010dno oceno 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vzporedno z grafi\u010dnim prikazom izrabe ranljivosti nam orodje dostavi tudi navodila, kako konkretno ranljivost odpraviti. Navodila so zbrana v obliki enciklopedi\u010dnih zapisov, ki uporabniku hitro ponudijo prave informacije in ga usmerjajo v postopku odprave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Kon\u010dnica je na strani IT strokovnjakov<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Zadnji korak v postopku validacije kibernetske varnosti je odpravljanje ranljivosti. Ta del je \u0161e vedno na ple\u010dih IT strokovnjakov v organizacijah in terja precej \u010dasa. V podjetjih, ki \u017ee uporabljajo orodja za avtomatizirano penetracijsko testiranje navajajo, da odpravljanje ranljivosti traja tudi ve\u010d tednov. Pogojeno je s tem, koliko \u010dasa lahko temu namenijo IT oddelki.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kljub temu pa ima tudi na tej stopnji uporaba orodja dodano vrednost v obliki prej omenjenih <strong>enciklopedi\u010dnih oz. wiki zapisov<\/strong>, ki lahko izvajalcem prihranijo ure brskanja po internetu in iskanja pravih re\u0161itev. To je tudi faza, v kateri podjetje presodi, ali je dolo\u010deno ranljivost glede na vlo\u017eek smiselno odpravljati ali sprejmemo tveganje in jo morda odpravimo v nekem drugem trenutku.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Klju\u010dne prednosti orodij za avtomatizirano penetracijsko testiranje<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Podatek o ranljivostih, ki jih je <strong>dejansko mogo\u010de izrabiti<\/strong>, in <strong>baza znanja<\/strong> z navodili za odpravo.<\/li><li>Mo\u017enost pogostej\u0161ega opravljanja vdornih testov, npr. na tedenski ali mese\u010dni ravni.<\/li><li><strong>Hitreje opravljeni vdorni testi<\/strong> z natan\u010dnimi navodili za odpravo ranljivosti.<\/li><li>Z opravljenimi testi preverja tudi <strong>u\u010dinkovitost delovanja varnostnih naprav<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Poka\u017eejo objektivno sliko stanja kibernetske varnosti in lahko slu\u017eijo tudi za izhodi\u0161\u010de pri investicijah v nove varnostne naprave.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kljub prednostim avtomatiziranih orodij se je treba zavedati dveh pomembnih faktorjev:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Preden organizacija vpelje avtomatizirano preverjanje in potrjevanje varnosti, mora dosegati dovolj visoko raven kibernetske varnosti in kulture. Za svetovanje na tem podro\u010dju <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carbonsec.com\/sl\/kontakt\/\">smo vam z veseljem na voljo.<\/a><\/li><li>Avtomatizirano vdorno testiranje ne more v celoti nadomestiti ro\u010dnega vdornega testa, zato priporo\u010damo, da enkrat letno v vsakem primeru izvedete klasi\u010dni <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carbonsec.com\/sl\/storitve\/penetracijski-test\/\">penetracijski test<\/a>.
