The Administrator’s Challenge
Using compromised passwords exposes your network to risks. Password policies often do not prevent employees from using bad passwords. Instructing employees to change their passwords frequently is also not a good solution. Just one misused password is enough for hackers to gain access to a system.
How does the Breached Password Test (BPT) work
The breached password test checks whether your users are currently using passwords that are involved in publicly available exploits related to your domain. The BPT checks your Active Directory and reports which disclosed passwords are currently in use, so you can take immediate action!
The free Breached Password Test tool works with Active Directory, Windows 7 or newer (32- or 64-bit). It is also important that the analysis is performed on the workstation on which you install the BPT. This way, confidential data does not leave your network and actual passwords are not disclosed.
What are the benefits
- You get the information if your domains have been compromised, including passwords.
- Check whether the exposed passwords are actually in use in your Active Directory database.
- Privacy, as the actual passwords of user accounts are not disclosed.
- Easy to install tool – just install and run.
- Results are available within minutes.
